Description:  After CP 140, we ended up missing NS 67X. After 67X passed NS got quiet, so we decided to head to Bob Evans to get some supper then head down to CSX. Just like Day 1, it was busy when we werent there but as soon as we arrived it got quiet. The dispatcher was talking to an eastbound ethanol train that still hadnt passed us yet so we stuck around for it outside of Westville. A little time passed and CSX K421 passed us on Alida Rd, which interestingly enough is the only road we know of that there is no grass between the road and the ballast, with a NS engine leading a CN.

Description:  CSX got fairly quiet after CSX Q171 passed which allowed us to get into Wellsboro/Union Mills to spend the remainder of the day. When we got to Wellsboro we heard the rumble of engines on the CKIN so we went to investigate and sure enough, a different grain train than the one we saw here last week was sitting on the CKIN lead with a pair of GEVOs.

Description:  CSX got quiet again after CSX Q353 passed so we decided to go investigate the Chesapeke and Indiana. We went to the location where they sometimes park engines outside of town and sure enough, one of the DMIR SD-M units was sitting there!

Description:  While shooting IBCX 804, CSX Q146 passed. After it passed it got quiet again so we went to check out the Union Mills grain elevator. Sure enough, 3 CKIN engines were sitting with some hopper cars, 2 of which were in the new paint scheme.

Description:  A highnose GP38-2 trails 2nd on the short grain train. First engine I have seen in the new Southern style paint scheme. This engine was recently sold by NS to the CKIN, originally NS 5115. The NS GP38-2 highnose engines are slowly being sold off or rebuilt. Down to 89 on the roster as of September 2018.

Description:  When we finished with the CKIN engines and crossed CSX again, we noticed a headlight to the left and waited. CSX Q172 came almost to a stop before the diamond because they didnt get their signal across until the last minute. Dont get to see CSX Q172 as often as we do CSX Q171 since it usually passes through dark through our territory, as shown here as the light begins to fade on our Galesburg Trip.

CSX 69

Description:  After we left Wellsboro we heard the Chicago Dispatch give permission to CFE 05 to proceed from Warsaw to Hamler. Hoping that it would actually be a CFE engine leading, we went down to the CFE and followed the line pretty closely once we got out of Plymouth. We got through the small community of Bourbon, IN and still didnt see it. Then about 5 miles out of Bourbon and then the train passed us. Being as dark as it was we couldnt tell what the leader was. What we did know is it was moving very quickly! We barely got back into Bourbon before it got there. Sadly, it was the CSX Hamler Grain train with CSX 69 leading a CSX GEVO. I tried a time lapse of it but it didnt work the best. This would be the final train my dad and I caught on our 7 day trip. An unbelievable 51 trains were caught today, which brings the final trip total to 239 trains. While it was all fun, all good things must come to an end. Tonight we go home. Was a very fantastic trip! Lots of trains and fun times! Overall we saw all of the Super 7 railways, 2 heritage units, some short lines, and lots of unrepainted fallen flags! Really enjoyed my first time! Hope to do it again next year!
