CSX Q455 Thru Taft Ramp |

Late-running Q455 did something it rarely does, bypassed Taft Yard for Taft Ramp, swinging in at the TOFC signal & running around the loop. This way, they dropped their auto racks on Ramp 4 & only had to pull out into the siding & back into Taft Yard. The tail end of Q178 can be seen to the right of 7333. As of the date of this photo, approx 37 CSX motors were left in CR paint. (NOTE: 12/10-7333 is now in YN3 paint) 7333 is ex-CR 6134 & part of the "dedicated" pool of power that Waycross regularly sends in & out of FL. 7496, third out, already met the paint booth & is ex-CR 6042. |

The train ran from Jacksonville to Miami, making eight stops along the way. The Tropical container on the rear was used to hold the goodies. And, oh yeah!! The 2000 was dusted off (after almost two years dormant) to pull the special. The very first time I photographed this locomotive in this paint was right here in January 2000. |
