Description:  Long before an SD40 unit wore the number, this 1910 Alco-Brooks Pacific did. Originally it was #6126 but was superheated by the Milwaukee shops in 1920 and renumbered in 1938. Specifics - F3 class, 79" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 23x28" cylinders, engine weight of 247,300 lb, tractive effort of 31,874 lb. No date given so an approximate one used. Unknown photographer

It was superheated by Milwaukee shops in 1920, renumbered in 1938 to #178 Specifics - 73" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 23.5x28" cylinders, engine weight of 263,866 lb, tractive effort of 31,874 lb.
