Runaway Boxcar |
Description: |
Side view of the runaway boxcar being inspected after slamming into SOU 2-8-2 #4909. Note the man sitting to the left with his hands clasped - wonder if he is the yardmaster with this mess on his hands? The original photographer name appears to have been marked out and James Crowton stamp was placed next to it. |

Damage after Runaway Boxcar Collision |
Description: |
At first glance, SOU #4909 doesn't appear too damaged after runaway Southern boxcar #306153 rammed into it but look closer at the pilot coupler. That was the impact point. Albeit, the locomotive was an immovable force being hit by a bantam weight! The original photographer name appears to have been marked out and James Crowton stamp was placed next to it. |
