Boulton. Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer taken at Meadows Yard near Kearny, New Jersey, c. 1952. At the left is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5417, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during February of 1927 and retired in August of 1955 after 28 years of faithful service. In the center are the sanding towers and the coaling wharf. At the far right is a P-5A electric. Many thanks to Mr. Robert Hess for identifying this location correctly. |

Prominent here are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #410 and #5417. #410 is an L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikado" built in Juniata during April of 1915 and retired in August of 1955. #5417 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in February of 1927 and retired in August of 1955. In the center are the sanding towers and the coaling wharf. |

Partially visible at the far left is the Meadows Engine House. Mr. Robert Hess identified this location correctly. |

Both were built by GM-EMD. #7012 is an EFS-17M constructed in October of 1955 and rated at 1,750 horsepower. #6018 is an EF-25A built in March of 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. Looks to me like they're just idling-away, awaiting their next assignment. |
