LN E6A #753 - Louisville & Nashville
Description:
Pulling a very short string of mismatched passenger cars is this EMD E6A unit built in July of 1942 as LN #453A. It has been repainted in the light gray & yellow scheme applied beginning in 1962. The unit lasted until being scrapped in 1970. No location was listed - does anyone recognize this spot? It could possibly be Chicago, Luisville or even Indianapolis but not sure. John H. Kuehl photo

Description:
When this photo was taken at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal, the 753 was the last E6A still operating on the Louisville & Nashville. The locomotive had been built in June 1942 as the 453A, was renumbered 753 in 1946, was retired on 10 February 1971 and was used as trade-in credit with EMD. (approximate date of photo)
