Here is one of the earlier K-4s 4-6-2 Pacifics built by the PRR Juniata Shops in June of 1918 and one that outlasted many later K-4s Pacifics. Aziz. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in South Amboy, New Jersey, c. 1955. The photographer is not identified. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5348, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during May of 1918 and retired in October of 1956. Partially visible at the left is PRR engine #4741, a P-5A (2-C-2) electric built by Baldwin-General Electric in March of 1933, rated at 3,750 horsepower, and retired in October of 1964. |
