Description:
Here is a photo taken by Mr. Ralph E. Hallock. It was published originally in the July 1954 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 36. Partial Caption: "Framed by the graceful arches of the George Westinghouse Memorial Bridge, Pennsy's eastbound 'Juniata' noses through Turtle Creek Valley in East Pittsburgh, Pa." Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5713 and another E-8 whose number is not recorded. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5713 was built in October of 1952.

Description:
Volkmer. Here is an image of a photo by William D. Volkmer that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 4 May 1959. Shown here just West of the 24th Street Bridge (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5713 and #5797. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5713 was constructed in October of 1952, while #5797 was built in June of the same year. In this context, they're pulling a passenger train down the Allegheny Mountains, and will soon pause at the Altoona Station both to change crews and to discharge/board passengers. William E.
