WOW, I didn't even realize they still had this, Andy!! Is it assigned to some switching operation served by the MSE? That is, captive to a certain facility?

From what I was told, it sustained flood damage from Hurricane Katrina and has been sitting in this spot for a while. I am not sure of its present location, but when I took this picture, it was out near the large phosphate plant across from Chevron in Pascagoula.

Loconotes newsletter states the unit was scrapped. Sad, I guess the damage from Katrina made her irrepairable. I'm coming down this way in 3 weeks, hoping to catch something from them. Did they routinely keep an engine around Pascagoula to handle local switching, or just run it from Moss Point shop?

As far as I know, CSX usually handles switching the port, however, MSE might have access to serve certain customers out there as well.
