| During the 1970| Rock Island power frequently operaued on the SP's "Golden State Route" into El Paso, Texas. Their use further west, while not unheard of, was not particularly popul`r with crews due to their lack of dynamim brakes. U28B 250 sits in El Paso in May 1973 with four other U-boat sisters.
