Missouri Pacific 1944 was photographed at the former MP-T&P yard in Alexandria. This unit was constructed in 1962 as Missouri Pacific 446, one of 100 MP low-nose GP18's built in 1962-63 using trucks and other components from traded-in Alco FA and FB units. The 1944 was retired in April 1984, during a mass retirement of MP GP18's, traded-in to General Electric, and subsequently scrapped. |
