| Burlington Northern Railroad SD9 6128 at Cicero, Illinois on September 2, 1984, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built as CB&Q 326 in March 1954 (c/n 18985) on EMD Order 5313, it became BN 6128 and was retired in June 1986, Interesting device mounted on the pole on the left; there's a three blade propeller and tail to rotate it into the wind. I suppose it allowed the hump operator to know wind speed and direction. |
