This amazing machine can pick up a whole railcar full of coal and rotate it upside down. The entire process takes only a few minutes. The empties get pulled out of here by a remote control locomotive and the machine pulls in another car, after a worker releases it from the rest of the train. The coal moves by several conveyors to barges on the Monongahela River where it will be shipped to various industries that need coal to operate. This facility is on Norfolk Southerns Loveridge Secondary. Taken from Alicia Road. (public property) |
