Utica once had tremendous rail business. There were two team tracks used for loading and unloading, plus a passing siding where many north and southbound trains met. The agent operator handled all the rail business including passenger trains between VanAtta and Mt Vernon. This was the Baltimore and Ohio's Erie Division.
