Close up of damage to BAYL 2012
This shot shows the details of the damage to BAYL 2012 seen as it passes through Headland. The Bayline parks their locomotives overnight in Dothan AL in a part of town that is not the best in the area. There have been numerous occurances of vandalism and this appears to be the latest. It looks like someone was just trying to cause damage rather than gain access to the cab; note the window to the door is undamaged. With the size of the impact marks, I would say the damage was caused by rocks. While no railfan would ever do such, it's acts like this that make railroaders look at all of those near the property with suspicion.
