| Seen here is the NS training center at McDonough GA. NS trains engineers, conductors, signal personnel, shop personnel, and any number of other crafts here. I actually attended this center in 1981 as a clerk/operator trainee. I was there for 4 weeks. Back then there were only 2 tracks going into the center. It would appear it has been added onto. The training center is located about 2 miles from the NS mainline through McDonough and on a line that formerly went from McDonough to Griffin GA. That line has now been abandoned to Griffin and the track only extends a bit past the training center. |
