Kindig photo, this same photo appears in the book, Steam Locomotives Of The Burlington Route, and credits G. M. Best. Number 1955 was built by Brooks in January 1905 (c/n 30411) and sold for scrap in May 1948. The train is on the SP during World War II when that road was short of motive power. Several CB&Q locomotives were leased to the SP. Note the blackout visor on the headlight and SP train number boards added to all three locomotives. |
