| WSOR local approaches Fond du Lac Ave./Hwy. 44/Hwy. 23 as it hauls a baker's dozen of freight cars back to Horicon via former MILW rails at Ripon, WI on Memorial Day, 25 May 15. The 1913 Sanborn map depicts five tracks at this grade crossing, only this one remains. The MILW depot was just out of frame to left. Ripon Area Builders, in the background, is the former site of the 40,000 bu. CM&StP elevator. The MILW owned many elevators along its lines, and then leased them to the Milwaukee Elevator Co., if the information I have read is accurate. |
