PRR 6016, SD-35, 1966
Birmingham. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Birmingham, Pennsylvania, during April of 1966. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #6016, #2536, and another unit whose number is not visible. #6016 is an SD-35 built by EMD in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2536 is a U-25B built by General Electric in 1965 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are pulling a westbound mixed-cargo freight train. Note the "ribbon rail" placed between the tracks, ready for future installation.
