PRR 7146, EFS-17M, 1965
Rainy. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 12 October 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #7146, 7237-B, and #7227. All are EFS-17M's built by EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7146 and #7227 were built in 1957, but #7237-B was built in 1959. They are passing under the 24th Street Bridge with a 108-car coal train on their way to Altoona's Eastbound Receiving Yards. The caboose is N-8 #478168. The PRR's SLOPE Tower is partially visible on the right.
