| We were on our way to my wifes family in Georgia, and stopped at the Russell Cave NM, just down the road and across the state line in Alabama. I was looking for a short cut back out to US 72, and wandered into Orme. Lo and behold, theres a station there. Apparently this was once(100 years ago) a big enough coal producing area that there was a railroad here. Im guessing it connected with the Southern, which passes a few miles away, along US 72. This is the east side of the station. |
