Winter. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 03 January 1965. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #8607 and #8609. Both are APS-24MS's built by the American Locomotive Company and rated at 2,400 horsepower each; #8607 was built in 1955, but #8609 was built in 1956. They are passing under the 7th Street Bridge with a 57-car westbound mixed-cargo freight train and N-5C caboose #477970. |
