PRR 1233, H-9S, 1945         
Coal Power. Here is an undated photo by Granville Thomas that was taken near Millville, New Jersey. It was published originally in the March 1945 issue of "Model Railroader" magazine, page number not recorded. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #1233, an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built as an H-8B in Juniata during 1909, rebuilt as an H-9S in February of 1917, and retired in July of 1948. It is heading a Pennsylvania-Reading sand and gravel train of 65 cars.
