| On a Monday morning Southern Railway Mikado 4501 and Illinois Central Gulf GP10 8316 were stopped in front of the Southern's depot at Slidell, Louisiana. The 4501 was its way to Birmingham on a ferry trip, after having run a couple of excursions out of New Orleans the previous weekend; while the ICG geep was on its way from Bogalusa to Covington on the Shoreline Branch local, and had come down to the depot to exchange some paperwork. |
