BNSF 3779
BNSF 3779 at the north at-grade crossing... and that little yellow sign says, "No Train Horn" - right, like someone preparing to duck the gate will really pay attention to that... and remember, the Connell north crossing is in a curve with the ladder yard and passing lane to the right of this image - which means you can completely block on-coming rail traffic from view. (Originally I thought I was the only one that thought this was a pretty darn insane idea... the following day I had the good fortune to chat with a returned NP employee that had worked this area and good Mr. White seemed to echo my feelings about how this railroad town is sacrificing safety for short term comfort and quiet.) (Note the "three tracks" are really only "one track" - a single main in the middle with the ladder turn-out to west (far side of crossing) and maintenance spur heading off to the left of the frame (toward the oldest depot and now staging area).
