The sun played some nasty tricks today as I tried to catch the CP/CN freight transfer at Southern Yard - behind two sparkling CP ECO units. After two attempts - one at Brookfield Wye as the train crossed from CP to CN tracks, and again at Southern Yard on the return trip - thick clouds blocked the sunshine. Undeterred, I headed for one more try at Miller Road overpass, and the sun finally came out - literally as the train rounded the wye and came into view. I had just met fellow railfan Daniel at Southern Yard and he followed me to Miller Road. We both were totally second guessing as the sun stayed behind the clouds, and it sure looked like we weren't going to get a decent pic with the sun out. But our patience paid off. |
