Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken at Bay Head Junction, New Jersey, perhaps in 1954. The photographer is not identified. Shown here (L to R) are five locomotives: one Central Railroad of New Jersey diesel and four Pennsylvania Railroad steamers ~ only one of which is identifiable. The third engine from the left is PRR #5417, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during February of 1927 and retired in August of 1955 after 28 years of service. |
