Based on my experience the previous week, I headed to the yard around 2 PM and sure enough, L468 was getting ready to go again. This time they had a more typical configuration (it seems, when I catch them), a solo SD40-2 long-hood forward. At the front of the train are empty gons for loading with scrap metal at Alter on Sycamore Avenue. Behind them are a cut of aggregate loads for the adjacent Lycon ready-mix plant. |
