Here is the eighth of ten original photos by Douglas C. Jones that were taken in the Juniata section of Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1953. This photo was taken in the storage yard at the Pennsylvania Railroad's Erecting & Machine Shop. Shown here are the firebox, ash pan, and trailing truck assemblies on the Engineman's side of PRR engine #6801, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during August of 1926 and retired in June of 1954 after 28 years of faithful service.
