Into the curve. On the left is the storage yard for various pieces of railroad equipment owned by New York State as part of the Railroad Corridor. Mountains of spikes, tie plates, joint bars, rail, culverts and sign posts are stored here for future re-use. Notable new additions are the signal boxes and crossing gates removed from the Tupper Lake to Lake Placid section of the line, which the state foolishly decided to remove in favor of a rail trail. |
