Caltrain 906
Caltrain 906 prepares to shove another comute out of Diridon at 5:37 PM. 906 was one of 18 F40PH-2s the state ordered at the start of operations in 1985. Their ownership was transferred to Caltrain in the early 1990s, and in the late 1990s 15 of the now 20-unit fleet were rebuilt with Caterpillar HEP generators. These units are characterized by a covered rear walkway, the rear of the carbody flush with the rear of the frame. The 5 units still with the gear-driven HEP systems still have the open rear walkway. 906 will depart northbound with train #413 at 5:44 PM
