Looking as sharp as the day it was built is Union Pacific 2-8-0 #477. This appears to be a photo taken after it was retired and on its way to Salina, Kansas, to serve as a permanent display piece in July of 1955. Originally built by Burnham, Wms & Co (Baldwin predecessor) in July of 1901 as UP 1697, it was a Vauclain compound loco who was simplified sometime between 1903-10. The loco was renumbered to UP 477 in 1915. Specs - class C-57, 57" drivers, Rebuilt specs - 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x30" cylinders, engine weight of 187,891 lb, tractive effort of 39,458 lb.
