HOMC Steeplecab #307 - Hanna Ore Mining Co
Built by GE in 1927, this electric steeplecab was one of three ordered at that time for the Hanna Ore Mining Company. The three worked the Wabigon Mine near Buhl, MN until the mine closed in 1930. The loco and its sister units were then sent to the Mesabi Chief Mines near Keewahn, MN. When that mine closed in 1968, the Hanna Ore Mining Company then donated the loco in 1974 to the Lake Superior RR Museum. Its sister units were donated to mining museums and a town for a park display.
