With a full head of steam, Union Pacific 4-12-2 #9007 is ready to roll. Built by Alco-Brooks in August of 1926, this unique 4-12-2 wheel arrangement fit a need in the UP roster for fast freight service on flat terrains.The loco served the UP with its impressive tractive effort until being retired in June of 1956 and undoubtedly scrapped.
