CP 4-6-4 #2850 - Canadian Pacific
This beautiful streamlined 4-6-4 Royal Hudson would be one of the lucky ones who was spared from the scrapper's torch. Built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in August of 1938, it would serve well for nearly 25 years before being donated to the Canadian Rwy Museum in Delson, Quebec, Canada. This photo was taken by James Bowie as the locomotive was on display at the New York World's Fair of 1939. Specs - H1d class, 75" drivers, 275 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine wt of 354,000 lb and tractive effort of 45,254 lb.
