Amtrak #774 arrives along side Laguna Creek early on a weekend morning. This Pacific Surfliner (aka$Central Coast Surfliner) is 119 miles into its 350 mile journey between San Lois Obispo and San Diego. Laguna Creek is jacketed in a channel of cobblestones as part of a.WPA flood control project. The pumping station is visible at the rear of the train. F59PHI was delivered in July of 1998. The F59PHIs were nicknamed Chevy Luminas for their look-alike mini-van corporate cousins (not the same named sedans). |
