I'm not sure if this is an SD45 rebuild or something that was delivered new, but this unit screams EMD. Interesting how much smaller the U20C looks.

Hi that U20C looks like it's built on Australian loading gauge? I know when the 90 class that run in the Hunter Valley were built in Canada, to see them beside the Canadian units, there was about 3 feet difference in height.

After some quick research, it looks to me that this DDM45 was built for EFVM by EMD as an export loco. Check out the specs at: http://www.thedieselshop.us/Data%20EMD%20DDM-45.HTML It seems that they were built between 1970 and 1976. I don't know if those are new trucks or resized from DD35 trade-ins. Anyone have any info?

The trucks are like that because Brazil runs narrow gauge. thus a six axle unit would have too high of an axle loading.
