Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #2515, #2411, and #2249. #2515 is an EF-25 built by General Electric in 1962 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. #2411 is an AF-24 built by the American Locomotive Company in 1962 and rated at 2,400 horsepower. #2249 is an EF-22 built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,200 horsepower. They are pulling a 106-car westbound iron-ore train along with N-8 caboose #478216. |

24th Street. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad train in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 29 November 1964. Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #2249, #2290, and #2224. All were built by EMD. #2249 and #2224 are EF-22's built in 1963 and are rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #2290 is an EF-25 built in 1964 and rated at 2,500 horsepower. They are about to pass under the 24th Street Bridge with a 73-car TrucTrain and will not stop in Altoona on their way to the Enola Yards and points East. |

All are EF-22's built by EMD in 1963 and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. They are pulling a 160-car eastbound mixed-cargo freight train with caboose #477243. This photo was taken at the Route 483 Bridge. Up to October of 2010, at least, #2249 was in active excursion service with the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad in Cumberland, Maryland, as number "501." |
