UP B23-7 100 |
Description: |
UP B23-7 100 at Cotter, Arkansas on August 18, 1991, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 100 was built in January 1978 as MP 2289 (c/n 41772), renumbered by the MP to 4600 to avoid conflict with the newly arriving GP38-2's. It became UP 100 on April 11, 1986, retired May 27, 2005 and became the core for UPY 2659. A total of 13 out of 82 former MP B23-7's were repainted UP yellow with Missouri Pacific as the road name. This unit was not among those with MP lettering, however, it has the North Little Rock style of UP lettering, using a more squared font, most noticable in the letters U, O, and C. |
