Description:
Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad 4-6-2 class S-1-A 2851 at Denver, Colorado on an unknown date in 1948, photograph by H. O'Hanlon, print by Gordon C. Bassett, Chuck Zeiler collection. Number 2851 was built by Baldwin in 1909 (c/n 33447) as a class S-1, rebuilt by CB&Q in 1924 to a class S-1-A, sold for scrap in August 1948. Two cross-compound air pumps, pretty impressive.
