Description:  Elmira. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide that was taken in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, in 1948. Shown here is New York Central engine #2542, an L-1A (4-8-2) built by the American Locomotive Company during December of 1917 and retired in September of 1949 after 32 years of faithful service.
