CRI&P NW2 4901 |
Description: |
CRI&P NW2 4901 at about 18th Street, Chicago, Illinois, July 1978, photo by Chuck Zeiler. The NW2 is northbound, approaching the 16th Street interlocking which controls thr crossing of the ICG's Saint Charles Airline. Overhead the CTA's Budd-built transit cars are passing on the Dan Ryan line, later called the Red Line. The extra cribbing below the CTA supports was to repair stress cracks which showed up shortly after this bridge was put into service. |
