Between Two Tunnels.
Title:  Between Two Tunnels.
Description:  The camera is near MP 19.7 on the Old Main Line Subdivision. The coal train exited Davis Tunnel to the west, crossed the Patapsco River and drifted eastbound into Dorsey Tunnel. CSXT 96 & 35 provided the giddyapp with 125 loaded hoppers paying the bills. A ballast cleaner must have just passed over this track given the neat pile of dirty stone in the foreground of these photos. /DL

Description:  Near MP 20.5 on the Old Main Line Subdivision a mile or so east of Woodstock I came across this interesting rather large B&O stone culvert. CSX has stablized both portals and maintains two CWR tracks over the arch. The Old Main Lines main track and the 1.9 mile Davis passing siding. If Ive read the lay of the adjacent park land in the area this stone work likely pre-dates the c1905 realignment. Looking at the ballast Id hazard a guess that the track today is several feet above the origional grade. /DL
