The engineer looks like a tiny toy compared to the massive hulk of this 4-6-6-4 Challenger steam locomotive. Built by Alco-Schenectady in June of 1943 (serial #70180), it's massive tractive effort of 97,352 lb helped move freight over the mountainous Western ranges until being "vacated" in June of 1961.
