Belton Railroad (BRR)
I held off adding this picture, which is best of the worst for the Belton visit, for many years. Terrible picture, granted. However, the filing with the STB this week announcing the formal abandonment of what was the BRR made me decide to share this bad with the world. The BRR was a former Katy branch formed to preserve rail service in 1960. They trundled along for years moving cement, rock, and lumber behind this SW1 (and later a SW1200 off the Katy). In 1991, the line's owner sold BRR to the Georgetown RR, who operated it on and off. When abandonment was finally filed in 2020, there hadn't been a train in over 20 years.
